Sakura Hime Kaden – Chapter 02

*sigh* Ara ara~ It’s the first time in my life I ever felt like saying that (or typing…whatever) but there it is. My, oh my, this series (and these characters) are trouble for me. We’re only in the second chapter, so my fellow Tanemura fans will have to forgive me for a little critique. Things that I can still notice before falling helplessly in love with a story and characters.
Also, because I haven’t gotten permission to really use scans from anyone scanning the series (I will be taking care of that before the next chapter), I’m going to keep it short this week and just discuss the one thing that really comes to mind for this chapter.

…Is it fair to already cheat on all of my past Arina Tanemura loves and call this my favorite series from her? No? It’s too soon, isn’t it?
*sigh* Well fine. But after being an Arina Tanemura fan for a few years now, I feel like I’ve fallen in love with her manga all over again. We have something a little bit different, but with plenty of old sparks from some of her more “classic” series…and…yeah. I already fell in love with the raws, but seeing that wonderful dialogue just made my love complete!
So I have to thank Chiibi for translating and allowing me the use of her scanlation (scans provided by Yuuki Himura).
I suggest people don’t read my post until after reading the chapter, because I freely talk about everything in the chapter. (Though since I’m late I’m sure most people already read it)

Well, I did this for Mistress Fortune, so I decided to give my first impressions after just seeing the raw scans of Sakura Hime Kaden too. Too impatient to wait for translations!
Normally, I would have translated some pages myself (with my fail Japanese), but to keep going with the “first impressions” idea, I decided to do the same “fun” little guessing game. Feel free to shoot down my random thoughts. I’ll probably be shooting them down myself. Except for the fact that most of them are based on how pretty or cute certain things are…

Half-hiatus means filler posts are finally going to show up on this blog for the first time since…well really since the first month I opened it. Thankfully there’s Arina-sensei to look too, because she is capable of inspiring so much filler through fangirling.
Kelakagandy was nice enough to scan some images from the December issue of Ribon, which is the issue that announces Sakura Hime Kaden. And so it inspired me to do this filler (I am so lame that I need inspiration for filler posts).
New Arina Tanemura Series!

It’s called “Sakura-Hime Kaden” [桜姫華伝 (さくら ひめ かでん)] which as a simplified, not exact translation, could be “Sakura Princess Legend” or something~ (I had to find the kanji and get help with the third one). So more specific might me “Sakura Princess Flower Legend” if you translate all the kanji separately (kaden in romajii doesn’t seem to mean much).
It should be starting in the…January issue of Ribon? Which would be released 12/01/08 (right?). I’m not sure, someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
Edit: Still don’t know what it’s about exactly, but someone translated the blue text and it seems it will be a historical series. The Heian era specifically (meaning SUPER pretty kimono drawn by Arina-sensei!)

It’s the final chapter already. How sad. At least it was a really good chapter.
And in other Arina Tanemura news. The ShinKuro side story will come out on September 3. I still don’t know what it’s about, but I’ll be blogging that too. I’m sure someone will be nice and scanlate it.
But let’s get on topic with the final chapter of Mistress Fortune. Oh yeah and spoiler warning. Read the chapter released by Endless Youth & Co. before reading my post.
Mistress Fortune VOMIC

I’m sure a lot of you know this by now, but a VOMIC for Mistress Fortune was announced a little while ago. The site for it is now up and you can watch the first out of four parts (Chapter One was split into two it seems).
The word VOMIC apparently comes from “Voice” + “Comic” so it’s basically just a drama CD where you can follow along with the images from the comic. And in this case…it’s free! You can just watch it online at the site.
Mistress Fortune – Chapter Two

Yet another wonderful chapter of Mistress Fortune. I’m posting about it late again, but this time my fangirl excitement is still fresh. Because I just read the translation yesterday. With many thanks to chiibi for that by the way. Wonderful scanlation again~!
And just like last time, I am using Endless Youth & Co.’s raw preview scans.
But moving on…this month there was a side story for Mistress Fortune in Summer Ribon Special. It came out on the eighteenth and aside from the news here, I don’t know anything about it yet. I don’t have anywhere I can buy it right now, so I’ll have to rely on some kind soul buying it and scanning it for the rest of us. And of course, I’m almost completely useless without translations too. But…heh, I’ll blog about it if I get the chance.

This is the final part of my two-parter overview of ShinKuro. This will likely be my last fangirling for the series unless there’s an anime adaptation.
“I will show you a ‘happy ending.’ Even if I were to disappear.” Haine kept her promise at the very end and gave everyone a happy ending.
So because of that happy ending even I have to stop fangirling at some point (unless an anime comes up of course).
Mistress Fortune – Chapter One

As promised, I’m going to be blogging Mistress Fortune for the next 3 (or 2 really) months (even if I started out late).
Mistress Fortune is only going to be three chapters long. After that, Arina Tanemura is taking a break for a while (I’m guessing somewhere between 2-6 months). She’s worked on a manga for 47 straight months, and if you add in the next two chapters of Mistress Fortune, Arina-sensei will have been working for 49 months straight. Yikes.
This news explains why I thought the first chapter kind of felt like a one-shot. This also probably rules out any chances of an anime adaptation, so all our hopes still lie with ShinKuro.
Also, sorry that this post is so late. I totally spaced out on this until I got my issue of Ribon in the mail.
